What A Wonderful Thing

I have waited years to get to this event and it most definitely hasn’t disappointed. Breeding dogs has always been a dream of mine as I have always loved watching dogs work at a job they were bred to do. At first I wanted to breed border collies but after we got our first Aussie I knew then that they were the breed for me. Olive my first Aussie wasn’t the one I wanted to start with as I wanted to breed red Aussies. My next Aussie Terra only confirmed that this was the breed for me. Terra got me through some of the hardest times I have been through in my life and I might not be here if it weren’t for her. Terra remains by my side as my service dog and will have no litters of her own. This brings me to Chili the little red girl who has exceeded every one of my expectations and stolen my family’s hearts. Chili works like a dream but also has that wonderful off switch that is so desired in working dogs. Another wonderful things chili does is love my children fiercely. Henley taught chili to climb a ladder on the playground and go down the slide with her and she did all with no treats just purely the fact that Chili loves Henley. This week Chili whelped her first litter and I couldn’t be more proud of her! Chili has been not only an excellent mother but also so very patient with my children while allowing them to be a part of this experience. To say that I’m filled with joy is an understatement and I can’t wait to see what this new chapter will bring for my family. I also have to add every time I check on the puppies chili looks at me like loooook at my puppies (she is so proud of them).

Just Another Day

From the desk of Terra

I wanted to share my fun adventure of yesterday … I was suppose to have mom post yesterday but we just got way too tired when we got home. Ok back to to my story, I joined mom and Sam on a trip to Wegmans (this is in fact one of my favorite stores they have everything)! For those who don’t know, Sam is this super cool lady who gets to be a part of the family and help us with bunches of things. She is usually the “go to” on joyrides with me and mom when dads at work. Oh my goodness focus… ok so anyway … I had so many people say how beautiful I was, which of course made my floofy butt wiggle. Mom said I was doing great and I made sure to be super focused on her while the aisles got crowded. It’s my to make sure that mom is ok while we are out in public and Wegmans is not mom’s favorite store. Not to brag but it’s pretty tough when I’m close to all those yummy smelling foods and those noisy carts zoom so close but mom trained me to be a rockstar. I have to say though, the best part of the trip was when we got to go to Dunkin and I got some delicious whip cream!!! Then of course per usual I took my much needed nap in my very own seat.

Adventure Is Out There…

From the desk of Terra

Yesterday was a most exciting day. I got to take mom to get some stuff done at the people doctor. We got to go on an epic car ride and mom even remembered to move the kiddos car seat so I would be comfy (I knew then this adventure was more than just a car ride)!

Once we got there mom zoomed around underground until she parked the bus that was fun (I like when mom zooms). I got to waltz in with mom, I say waltz because walking just doesn’t sound as magical and my fluff is freaking magical. Right focus on the story … so this nice guy took mom’s temperature and did some pointing. We started waltzing some more down the hallway when all of a sudden mom scooted up against the wall and called me to front and sit stay. I was like oh crickey what’s coming …. Silly mom thought I’d be startled by the food trolley for the food service staff. I sat like the well behaved service dog mom trained me to be (even though we practice this for rally-o). We went on our merry way and found ourselves sitting in a nice comfy waiting room.

Today was the first time that mom left me alone with a support person. I rocked it like a champ waiting for her. I got to see all kinds of fun cool stuff like wheelchairs, crutches, canes, people wearing gowns it was super fun. As much fun as I had out and about with mom I was super glad when we got home to snuggle and watch movies.

Giggles and Such

Our house was in serious need of some laughs yesterday when I decided to put all the dogs to work. Jeff was kind enough to hook up the sled and all the dogs and let them pull the kids in a sled. Henley and Audrey loved it!!! We are not sled dog people but I had so much fun anyway and it was some much needed food for my soul as it lifted my spirits.

A Hunting We Will Go

This weekend we went to go cut down our Christmas tree with the family. In years past we have always brought one of our dogs with us this year it was Chili’s turn.
